BCP Holy Communion

1st 3 Sundays of each month 8.00am – Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion in St Mary’s Church

Our Morning Service is a short service of Holy Communion following the traditional Book of Common Prayer. This is a reflective service, without hymns, and lasts 30 to 40 minutes.

Family Services

1st Sunday 11.00am – Cafe style service in All Saints Hall
2nd Sunday 11.00am – Holy Communion in St Mary’s Church
Other Sundays 11.00am – Worship Service in St Mary’s Church

Our Cafe Service is an informal service of Worship in All Saints Hall in West Street every 1st Sunday with a music group who play modern songs. It is very informal and always led by ordinary members of the church, and often includes an opportunity for all of us to discuss the theme of the service and offer our contributions if we want to.
On others Sundays the 10am is in St Mary’s with an informal atmosphere and a music group with modern songs. On the 2nd Sunday it includes Holy Communion with modern wording, and on other Sundays the 10am service is an informal Worship Service.

After each 10am service if anyone has a need for prayer, people are on hand to pray with them. Coffee is served which gives us a chance to get to know one another better. The service lasts from 60 to 75 minutes.

Evening Service

4th Sunday 6.30pm – Common Worship Holy Communion in St Mary’s Church
1st and 2nd Sundays 6.30pm – Common Worship Evening Prayer in St Mary’s Church

Our Evening Service is a more formal but relaxed service of Evening Prayer or Holy Communion using the modern wording of Common Worship. This service has traditional hymns accompanied  by the organ or an electric piano. The service lasts 60 minutes.

On the 3rd sunday of each month, we join with the Anglican and Baptist Churches in Montacute for an Ecumenical Service which each church hosts on a rota basis.
